Hardware and software development for the digitalization of a treatment process

Goal: Integration of sensors into a physiotherapist's couch to record weight shifts during a treatment process. Evaluation and visualization of the data in real time. 

Method:

  • Design and development of electrical hardware (sensors)

  • Mechanical design of the sensor modules and prototype development with a 3D printer

  • Connection of the developed sensors to a microcontroller using a bus system

  • Development of software with Python and C/C++ under Embedded Linux for the microcontroller

  • Development of software for data acquisition and evaluation of sensor data in the millisecond range

  • Development of a web interface to operate the system as well as display and evaluate the data for the customer

  • Communication of the web interface with the microcontroller based on a residual interface
